Touchdown!

March 29, 2015 2 min read

Wow, what an adventure!  Thanks to my new friends at Rogers & Brown, all of the red tape has been cut and the first shipment has been delivered!

After unloading the truck - filling up the garage with almost exactly one ton of Esington Glasses.

This very friendly driver helped me unload everything. I gave him 4 glasses - one for each of his kids!

The Glasses are wrapped in tissue paper (nice touch - thanks Todd!), then packed in styrofoam and packed in an Esington cardboard box.

Then I'm wrapping everything in bubble wrap, and putting THAT in another box. I'm also putting the bases in the bubble wrap, not exposed like this.

Deliveries are going out tomorrow morning! I spent this evening doing packing and drop testing. Actually, it's more like "throw" testing. No breaks - I'm very happy with this packing solution.  As they go out, you'll get an email with your tracking information.  I'm getting these to you as fast as I can - please bear with me as I learn what the best flow for this process is!

The second and third shipments are both in production.  I'm going to be experimenting with some international fulfillment processes - if you are an international customer and want to be in the trial program, please let me know.  You'll most likely get your glass faster, but there is a small chance of something going awry because it is experimental!  I will keep everyone updated about the timelines for the rest of the orders as I get updates from the factories.

Thanks so much to all of you for making this a reality.  It's actually happening!  I can't wait for your stories to start coming in.  Please share them with me!
